In a recent email from Home Depot, the subject line announced, "Fall Is Here ... You Know What That Means." Hmm, stress? Ha, no, it meant FOOTBALL, naturally. Home Depot's email shows how to use the big Fall themes of football and yard work in their "effective email."
As analyzed by the most detailed email and direct mail search platform, Who's Mailing What!, I can see that the email was sent on Sept. 19 at 1:21 p.m. In other words, on a Thursday — the most common day to send an email to prospects — and before the first day of Fall on that Sunday, Sept. 22. Clearly, marketers at Home Depot considered that Thursday afternoon to be the optimal time to send to prospects who might want to venture to a Home Depot that weekend.
See the slideshow below to look at the HTML email and how Fall and football was leveraged.
