House Industries Charms Its Way to the Top of the Mail Pile
House Industries may not be a household name, but in the design world this type foundry is known for typography that blends graphic, cultural and musical elements. This multi-fold mailing in particular boldly showcases the Eames Century Modern font, inspired byAmerican designers Charles and Ray Eames.
Retro Like Whoa!
The 6” x 9” envelope gives the recipient the first taste of retro coolness. Pairing the manila-colored base with the black and seafoam green arrows makes it pop among typical mailbox inhabitants, and the back (which you can check out online, see below) teases as to what’s inside.
Party in the Back
The back of the envelope uses the space to show off the House Industries' personality, balancing vertical stripes with a preview of what is contained within the envelope: the Eames Century Modern font family.
Hope You Like Your Fonts Extra Bold
Once completely unfolded, the inside of this mailing does two things extremely well: It shows off House’s fun, funky, playful personality with a giant ampersand set in a harlequin design, and it fully showcases the Eames Century Modern font. While there’s no information about pricing, the website is listed so you can learn more about this font and others, as well products such as an apostrophe serving board.
Two Birds, One Mailing
While the rest of the mailing focuses on showing off the font goods, there is a small call to action in the lower left … for the paper that the piece is printed on. “Like this paper?” includes a link to the EAMES Papers page on Neenah Paper’s site and a free shipping code. That’s sure convenient!
All Signs Point to Yes
The outside of the House Industries' mailing features more bold design, a spotlight on the font name and most importantly, a showcase of the Eames Century Modern Collection in the right panel.
