Stay Awhile: Google AdSense Introduces Matched Content
Everybody knows by now that "content is king." But what's to stop people from leaving your site's kingdom to spend time in someone else's castle—and taking their potential business elsewhere? Last week, Google (who else?) announced a new AdSense feature that might get roamers to pull up a chair and settle down on your site for a while.
On the AdSense blog, Google noted that the feature was now available, saying that Matched Content is "a free content recommendation tool for AdSense publishers that promotes your content to your site visitors. Matched content generates contextually relevant and personalized article recommendations from the pages on your website."
To find out if your AdSense account is eligible, head over to Google's questions and support site and read up on it. At the moment, it seems like in order to add Matched Content module is for sites that "meet our minimum requirements for traffic volume and number of unique pages."
Naturally, keeping site visitors on your site increases views, engagement, and hopefully conversion, so this is a win-win for both you and Google—as their AdSense placed ads will also see more eyeballs. What do you think of this new addition to the AdSense toolbox? Let us know in the comments below.
