Gexa’s Direct Mail Promises Easy Pricing on Electricity
Shopping around for cheaper power can be a bit frustrating, as this direct mail effort acknowledges.
Mailer Name: Gexa Energy
Date Mailed: September 2015
In a direct mail campaign sent to prospects in Texas, this electricity provider emphasizes its fixed rate. The front of its #10 envelope mentions in three places that its price remains the same “every day, every night.” The back of the envelope repeats the line.
The letter begins by explaining what’s going on: “We’re here to take the hassle and guesswork out of electricity pricing.” For customers using a certain number of kilowatt hours, the company promises that it will hold its rate steady for a year.
It backs up that pledge with a guarantee that shows up in the letter’s Johnson Box. The distressed, off-center “GUARANTEED” graphic also appears on the front of the envelope as well as on one side of the package’s buck slip.
Besides the promise, the front side of the insert includes a call to action. It also directs still-skeptical customers to looks at the slip’s reverse side. Three testimonials appear there. Each of the Texans quoted talks about the company’s low price.
