And the Winner of the "When Pigs Fly" Contest Is ...
Thank you for responding to my When Pigs Fly Contest. The Flying Pig Award goes to Jo-Von Tucker of Clambake Celebrations. Here's her story.

Love your idea for the When Pigs Fly contest. I have the perfect spot in my office at Clambake Celebrations for that flying pig, so here's my entry.
Years ago, when I was an agency creative director, we went on a location shoot in East Africa for a fashion catalog. The client came along. Problems started at Nairobi International where we were held up for 11 hours until we bribed our way out.
We had been briefed about the dangers we might face, and face them we did! A photographer became deathly ill after drinking a glass of brown water. A model was bitten by a nasty-looking spider. One morning we had to abandon breakfast to screaming baboons as they raced through our camp. There were encounters with lions and hyenas, and big snakes and lizards.
Worst of all was the client who suddenly just exploded about some detail and frightened off our drivers and guides! They melted into the bush, leaving us there in the middle of Africa. I finally found the head assistant, translator and guide, and begged/prayed/swore our way back into his good graces.
Then, when we returned home, the client insisted we tight-crop every shot so she could fit more items on a spread. There went the fabulous shots of giraffes in the background. Goodbye to the dreamy scene with Mount Kenya looming behind the models. So long to accessory shots in the dusty red earth of Kenya. We might as well have shot the whole thing in Atlanta!
I'm a lot older now, and considerably wiser. Would I take on another far-away shoot for a mercurial personality? Sure. When pigs fly! Now I can sit comfortably in my office at Clambake Celebrations, my own little direct marketing company, and deal with location shots on the beach of beautiful Cape Cod!
