Built on Mercado’s previous e-commerce search and navigation platform, Mercado Base provides linguistic capabilities and retail industry thesauri that allow retailers to quickly create searches without the need for labor-intensive “query-baking,” or requiring the search system to learn retail terms over time.
The program’s reporting tools allow users to monitor and analyze search behavior, trends and specific e-commerce metrics such as searches that result in shoppers being directed to departments or product categories.

Executive Data View
Trillium Software, a business of Harte-Hanks Inc., a global total data quality solutions provider, has released a new version of its data-quality dashboard, TS Insight Version 2.0. The program is designed to provide companies with an executive view of data-quality trends presented via Web-based scorecards.
Enhancements to this version of TS Insight include a more easily administered security model, increased performance and more detailed feedback for administrators, and increased data standards compliance including additional quality metrics to score and trend metrics associated with missing or incomplete data.

Integrated Marketing
MyBuys, a behavioral e-marketing company, recently introduced MyBuys 3.0, an integrated, multichannel, one-to-one marketing service for online retailers to deliver more relevant product recommendations and drive incremental sales via Web, e-mail and RSS feeds.
The program combines three sources of consumer insight—prior purchases, explicit desires and observed behaviors—to identify a consumer’s specific product needs. As a consumer browses a Web site, MyBuys captures clickstream data and purchases, then leverages multiple algorithms based on retailer rules to build profiles on which specific product recommendations are based.

Lead Generation
Online sales lead service provider Salesgenie.com has launched its Customer Analyzer & Prospect Builder tool, an application that matches up to 500 customers against Salesgenie.com’s 14 million U.S. businesses database by name, area code and ZIP code, as well as its 210 million U.S. consumer database by phone number, area code, ZIP code and last name.
The program analyzes the list to find common characteristics based on business factors, including industry codes, employee size, sales volume and credit rating, as well as consumer factors such as age and estimated annual income. This information is used to create a list of nationwide prospects similar to the company’s best customers that then can be narrowed by geography.
