If anybody knows me, they know that I like the bike. I like this wonderful invention for all the obvious reasons (exercise, environment, save money, etc.), but also the idea that you can even do things on a bike that you previously had to have a car for: namely, haul things.
Welcome to the Xtracycle, a company that makes bicycles that haul up to 200 pounds of stuff (grocery bags, concrete mix, kids, you name it). Pretty cool. This "cargo bicycle" company also sends out some, yes, cool but also effective emails.
We track tons of small and mid-sized companies in our gigantic online database of email (and direct mail), and it's always interesting to see how they promote themselves as well as aim for the sale. Xtracycle sent an Aug. 30 email with the subject line, "Reserve Your EdgeRunner for Fall 2013." To even customers very familiar with Xtracycle, they may not know about this new line of cargo bikes — hence, the subject lines piques interest, as does the idea of "reserving" one.
Otherwise, the HTML email is very well executed, from the clean, simple design to all of the content inside. See the slideshow breakdown below!
