Ink Cards Animates Its Way Into Your Inbox's Heart
Have you looked at a calendar recently? Valentine's Day is tomorrow, and the lead-up to the big pink and red holiday has resulted in my inbox being packed with holiday emails.
One subject line, "How would you describe your Valentine?", snagged my attention with its simple question, and as I opened the email I was greeted by one of Ink Cards' Valentine's Day cards … and then another … and then another! The Sincerely team (who are responsible for Ink Cards, Postagram, Sesame Gifts and PopBooth) had embedded an animated gif in the email promotion, showing off seven examples of the possible Valentine's Day cards I could send using their app.
The animated gif of the Valentine's Day cards is a smart move; it grabs the email recipient's attention and holds it through the rotation of images. You can see the animated gif in action right here.
The email's design is effective and simple … you can click on the "Browse Cards" call-to-action button below the main image, as well as the image and the text above it to go to Ink Card's landing page (if you don't have the Ink Card app on your mobile device, or if you're viewing the email on a desktop) or directly to the Ink Card app.
