Hudson Valley Seed Library Balances Selling and Content
When I signed up for Hudson Valley Seed Library's email program a few weeks ago, it was because of the company’s awesome 2015 print catalog, which I had picked up at this year’s Philadelphia Flower Show. The commissioned work of art on the front cover, a stunning collage of paint and paper, is just one example of how Hudson Valley Seed Library explores the connection between art and agriculture. An email from this past Tuesday is another.
Starting with its clever subject line, “Seeders Digest: Planning for Pollinators,” the email is designed to encourage thoughtful involvement in the company’s mission — to promote sustainable, caring seed stewardship, as well as to sell product. The pre-header text, “Planting a pollinator garden, Pepper and eggplant seeds on sale, Upcoming events, Calendar blowout!” further lays out the email’s objectives. Please see the slideshow below for a closer look at how Hudson Valley Seed Library accomplishes its task.
