I haven’t been traveling very much lately, but I still like looking out for bargains on trips. For that reason alone, I signed up to get emails from Hipmunk, the travel-planning website. The folks there are good at not bombarding you with messages … just sending often enough to keep your interest without seeming desperate. They’ve often promoted sales, sweepstakes and specific destinations.
But what really hooked me was a recent edition of the newsletter-like email that’s heavy on content. The subject line, “In A Nutshell: Which Holiday to Fly | Free Hotel WiFi Guide | More” looked like an interesting read, and got me started thinking seriously about my travel plans for the rest of the year.
