Welcome to Target Marketing’s 10th annual Top 50 Mailers as measured by volume!
Again this year, we’ve teamed with Who’s Mailing What! (WMW!) to create this list from its library of direct mail and email pieces for you. And this year, we’re doing something new: We’re including the top emails and mailers by category as well, so you can get a more complete view of the marketing spectrum.
The “Top 50” ranks the top mailers by the mail received at WMW! List providers (where available) were provided by Kantar Media’s SRDS.com Database, and are accurate as of July 2015.
After that, the categories rank the top mailers and emailers according to the mail and email received in each of these sectors: Automotive, B-to-B, Catalog, Nonprofit, Retail Traffic Builders and Travel/Tourism.

To create this comprehensive list of the Top 50 Mailers and Emailers, we relied upon mailings data from Who’s Mailing What!, the world’s most complete online library of multichannel direct mail and email campaigns, which can be found at whosmailingwhat.com.
Powered by Target Marketing magazine’s publishing partner Direct Marketing IQ, WMW! provides information on hundreds of thousands of direct mail packages and promotional emails from across the U.S. markets. Updated monthly, WMW! tracks more than 200 industry categories, including: financial services, fundraising, insurance, telecom, catalogs, magazine publishing, retail, travel, automotive and much more.
The direct mail side of WMW! collects mail from seeds all across the U.S., evenly distributed from states and metropolitan markets. Data recorded includes: mailer name, company details, offer description, control mailing (if it’s been repeated in the mailstream) scans of select mailings, category, format used, size of mailing, offer type (such as retention or acquisition), use of personalization, use of premiums or freemiums, and more.
WMW! also collects emails from direct mail and online marketers from seeds in various categories. Data recorded includes: emailer name, company details, subject line, offer description, word count, use of personalization, offers of free shipping, offers for sweepstakes, repeats in the same month, date and time received, as well as day of the week.
