Riddle Me This: What's the Best Way to Stay Ahead of Google's Algorithm Changes?
In 2015, technology is more at the center of daily life than ever. This is just as true—if not more so—for the cutting-edge marketer. To find out what is most important, we asked experts in a number of marketing disciplines to weigh in and answer the questions we hear most.
We asked Kevin Lee, CEO of Didit the following question about SEO: What's the best way to stay ahead of Google's algorithm changes?
Every Google algorithm change is centered on one thing: searcher satisfaction with relevance. Therefore, it's obvious that you need great quality content on your site to delight visitors and meet their needs.
Keep it real. Imagine all the different ways Google, Bing—and any other search engine, for that matter—might use data at their disposal to grade how well you are satisfying the needs of the searcher. Mix it up. Create written content in different writing styles, of different lengths and with differing layouts.
Move beyond the written word to include video, audio (podcasts), images and infographics on your site. Lack of authenticity eventually shows through. It's perfectly fine to use the assistance of an agency or ghostwriter to create content, but the content needs to reflect your voice.
