Walter Paley, 2016 Marketer of Tomorrow
Every Fall, Target Marketing honors one “Marketer of the Year.” But what about other marketers doing great work in their spaces? Walter Paley is one of the six ascending stars selected as a "Marketer of Tomorrow."
The marketing department at SafeLogic, a provider of strong encryption products for solutions in mobile, server, Cloud, appliance, wearable and Internet of Things environments, isn’t very big.
In fact, it’s only one person — Walter Paley. He’s the marketing director and says there is no average day for him. Paley is responsible for all things marketing, from strategy and execution to communications and social media.
“The two constants are continual interfacing with the sales and business development folks — we have to be pulling the same direction — and a sustained attention to Twitter and LinkedIn. Social media moves too quickly to ignore for any length of time,” explains Paley.
This marketing professional has worked with software companies for more than five years, and he enjoys the opportunities he gets to infuse his creativity into projects.
“I was once delivered an unintelligible spreadsheet of useless internal customer data, which I was able to craft into an infographic report,” says Paley. “It was so popular, it spawned a quarterly infographic that was leveraged for blog posts, whitepapers and executive presentations … One man’s garbage is another man’s treasure, indeed.”
