Verizon’s Email Promises Peace of Mind to Customers
Security can come at a price, although this email softens that possible customer objection.
Mailer Name: Verizon
Date Emailed: February 27, 2017
Verizon, the telecom giant, supplies its customers with a steady stream of offers for various add-on apps, services, and upgrades. More programs and devices also mean that there are more opportunities for exposure to cyber criminals.
That is, unless your provider has a solution that guards their security and privacy. That’s the case here.
“Protect yourself with Digital Security Pro” reads this email’s subject line. And the customer gets a better idea of why it might be worth opening by reading the pre-header text. “Get great security, bundled together for one low price,” it says.
The image that tops the HTML shows a dad relaxing with his boys. Although he has a laptop, he’s keeping an eye on them as they look at a tablet.
“More security. Less worry” the headline reads. “Digital Security Pro helps keep you, your family and your devices protected,” the subhead reveals. And although some say a price can’t be put on security, this feature only costs the customer $10 a month.
A customer may opt not to immediately sign up by clicking through to Verizon’s site. If so, they can learn more about what they get for that $10 in the block below. It shows three “great products” that make up the bundle. Three bullet points run down the benefits of each in protecting the customer’s online activity.
Finally, another small block at the bottom of the email restates the $10 price for the service. It also reminds the customer of the threats they face. “Identity theft? Hackers? Viruses? Not here,” it brags.
Overcome a customer’s objection about cost by emphasizing value as well as the peace of mind your solution provides.
