Tuesday Is Most Popular Day for Sending E-mails
A recent search of the E-mail Campaign Archive shows that Tuesday has been the most popular day to send e-mails in 2008. Powered by The Who's Mailing What! Archive, the E-mail Campaign Archive is a Target Marketing Group service that collects thousands of promotional e-mail samples and detailed information about them across hundreds of mailing categories each month.
Between January and October, for example, out of the 47,618 promotional e-mails sent, 9,827 were sent on Tuesdays, according to the archive, which began building its library of promotional e-mail samples in December 2007.
Although some e-mail marketers say no particular day is the best to send e-mails, after Tuesday the next most popular day to send promotional e-mails in 2008 was Thursday, with 9,761 e-mails sent, according to the archive. The next most popular day was Wednesday with 8,241 e-mails. Friday came next, with 7,617 e-mails, followed by Monday, with 7,240 e-mails. Saturday, with 2,540, and Sunday, with 2,392, lagged far behind.
