Teasers: A Picture is Still Worth a Thousand Words
The best teasers I've ever done were a strong union of the message and the visuals. Visuals can not only enhance the teaser but can tell most of the story with the copy as a support.
Note how the following examples give you an immediate understanding of the benefits to come, even though you don't have the sample mailings to view.
Visual: Photo of a stack of software boxes being carried by an office worker. There is an empty space in the middle of the stack.
Teaser: Is something missing from your graphics library?
Snipe: XYZ Software has it, and you can try it for only $9.95.
Visual: Photo of a human hand with the fingers crossed.
Teaser: There are more reliable ways to lift response.
