The Oregon-based company sells a large variety of natural and organic foods. Among its products are soups, dips, sauces, stocks, and non-dairy beverages. The subject line of its recent e-newsletter promotes a sweepstakes involving some of them: “WIN a healthier breakfast!”
The first image shows a top-down view of a desk. Arranged on it are several typical office items, like a laptop computer, notepad, and a jar of pens. As far as foods go, they share the space with a cup of coffee and a bowl of oatmeal.
First, the top paragraph directs Pacific Foods’s customers to “Upgrade Your Breakfast.” Using the clever #DeskFast hashtag, they can tell others what quick but healthy foods they eat as they begin each morning. To win an assortment of foods for a month, they only need to follow the call to action to post on Facebook.
Next, the second block focuses on the company’s community involvement activities. A photo shows one of the company’s food trucks near the company’s home base. There, customers can sample foods as well as learn about its ant-hunger activities.
Finally, the third block down quickly looks at three fall-oriented recipes. Tantalizing photos show each food, followed a paragraph of copy. A few details describe each one, and links click through to their recipes on the company’s website.
Contests are a good tool to build customer engagement and loyalty, as well as social media outreach.
