Denny’s Zinger: Show Some Cleavage
In the media player is an ad from a company called Gilt next to my Yahoo inbox.
The product? Upscale shoes.
My feet are weird: 8-1/2 EEEE.
So before going any further with Gilt, I wanted to see if they carried my size.
I clicked on SHOP NOW and the screen in the second image in the media player appeared.
There was no way to get rid of that damned intrusive inset screen. The message: Pony up your data or ta-ta.
I clicked bye-bye.
Quite simply, a prospect wants to see what he's getting before giving personal info.
In 2006 Daniel Craig was cast as James Bond in Casino Royale. Everyone wanted to know how he stacked up against Connery, Moore and Brosnan. Was Craig worth the price of admission?
Giles Coren answered the question in his Times of London review:
"BY HECK, DANIEL CRAIG looks nice in his pants. I haven't fancied a Bond so much since David Niven. It's mostly the fact that he has a proper chest. Connery's you couldn't see for the rogue pubes on northward manoeuvres, Roger Moore's was so slack that his nipples were lower than his waistband (though I'll grant you the waist on those trousers was high) and Pierce Brosnan had that old-man-sucky-tummy-puff-yer-chest-out thing going on, so that he appeared to have an actual embonpoint. But Daniel, with those hoddy's shoulders and the square-cut trunks... Yum, yum."
Takeaway to Consider:
- Before asking for personal information, show some cleavage, or a basket.
