With New Year, Sofitel’s Email Promises the Exceptional
A luxury hotel uses email to remind travelers of the new horizons that await them in the new year.

A unit of Accor Hotels, the French hotel chain is made up of 120 properties in 40 countries around the world. It celebrated 2017 with an effort that wishes its customers well. “[F NAME], have a Magnifique year with Sofitel” reads the personalized subject line.
Against a starry background, this email uses images and copy to keep the brand top-of-mind. The 5 photos at the top of the HTML all include lights of various kinds, adding to the celebratory effect. Each is from a Sofitel property.
A letter that follows greets the recipient by name, and then notes “A new year is always full of promise!” Expanding on the theme, it makes promises to them. “We promise: To always welcome you with a smile,” it begins. “To satisfy your every need … to continue to share our passion … to provide unforgettable stays.”
The next section of the email is made up of 6 blocks. Each promotes a specific city or area, like London, Bali, or New York. “Discover exceptional destinations … take Sofitel for inspiration,” it urges.
Each includes a photo and some copy that starts to make the case for it as a unique, inspiring destination. And, a button clicks through to that Sofitel’s specific website to learn more and make reservations.
At bottom, a larger button is centered that clicks through to a page on the Sofitel website. It allows prospects to search for other hotel destinations using menus for country and continent.
Finally, at bottom, logos for all of Sofitel’s brands (Sofitel, MGallery, Legend, and SO) appear. Travelers can choose from these hotels based on the kind of inspiration they provide.
