Minute Clinic Mail Gets Kids Ready for School
Back-to-school season inspires all kinds of retail (and otherwise) activity, including a visit to a health care professional, as shown in this direct mail campaign.
Mailer Name: Minute Clinic
Date Mailed: July 2014
Minute Clinic, a chain of health care centers inside CVS stores, promotes school vaccination at just the right time. Getting a shot is not a pleasant experience, as the photo shows on this postcard. But it is necessary for enrollment in most cases. Hence, the big type at the top.
To make it easier for parents to fit in their schedule, it notes that vaccinations can be done every day. And, it dangles a free Johnson & Johnson coupon book as a reward.
The reverse side of the postcard provides another reason to take kids to the clinic: sports physicals. It’s also a requirement for school athletics. It offers a limited-time $20 discount, and directs parents to call or go online for more information. The inclusion of the logos of two major scholastic sports bodies adds credibility to the clinic.
When you offer a product or service that’s a legal requirement, stand out from the competition by giving a discount to customers.
