Jeep Throws Itself a Birthday Party With Its Mail
As this direct mail piece shows, when you’re celebrating a birthday, you may as well have everybody in your family over to the party.
Mailer Name: Jeep
Date Mailed: February 2016
“FREEDOM IS ENDURING” reads the headline on the front of this 6”x10-1/2” envelope. But’s also a powerful sentiment that can be applied to Jeep itself, celebrating its 75th year as an iconic brand. The reverse side of the outer shows several Jeep vehicles on a mountaintop scene. It teases an “exclusive offer” and shows a special anniversary emblem.
Both sides of an insert promote an important incentive. Jeep offers a $1,000 “bonus cash allowance” good toward an 2015 or 2016 vehicle. It also includes several financing options. The promotion also highights the offer’s expiration date.
Also included in the envelope is a 12-page brochure. The first inside spread runs through what it calls “a rich and rewarding history” of the brand. Starting with its 1941 World War II jeep, it lays out a timeline along which are posted noteworthy vehicles. Each one demonstrates a significant style or technological development.
Subsequent pages highlight vehicles in the Jeep lineup. Each one includes several photos and a long description of the 2016 standard version of that nameplate. The page also uses bullet points to list the special features of the limited anniversary edition for that particular model. Highly-rated vehicles, like some honored by Kelley Blue Book, use a ribbon in the listing.
If your company or brand has a big birthday coming up, take the opportunity to brag a little.
