Dear Santa: All I Want For Christmas is Increased Sales—All Year Long!
Sam Allman, president of Allman Consulting and Training, offers three tips to keep the spirit of the season throughout the year.
• Holiday spirit.
Create an enjoyable buying experience for the customer. If customers feel appreciated, understood and well-cared for, they are going to return again and again, choosing you over the lower-priced competition.
• Stocking stuffers.
Offer your shoppers incentives to show them that while you may not be able to dramatically slash prices, you can give them something extra. Offering special discounts for customer referrals is a great way to show customer appreciation while gaining new clientele. Or try throwing a holiday party for top clients offering them special discounts.
• Stay on Santa’s nice list all year.
Keep prices consistent. Cutting your prices shows that you don’t believe in the integrity of your price to begin with. If you’re willing to make drastic price cuts, customers start to believe that during the rest of the year you’ve just been marking up your prices.
