The value proposition is "the core, or central, truth about whatever the offering is," says Jose Palamino, president and founder of Value Prop Interactive. More importantly, the value proposition answers the question "Why should anyone care?" That's just part of what he revealed while talking with MarketingSherpa's Editorial Content Director Daniel Burstein. More highlights from the “Why is Value Proposition So Important?” video include:
- Consumers have a multitude of choices, many of which are almost exactly like the product or service a particular marketer offers, he says. So marketers need to take a hard look at the "table stakes" to determine what sets them apart from their competitors in a meaningful way to their target audiences, Palamino says.
- A tip: "It only matters if it matters to the customer," he says.
