"Because of their high income, this group is typically targeted by fund-raisers," says Amy Lyons, marketing services director for ClientLogic. "A lot of these individuals are women—and they're known to be more responsive to fund-raising offers than men."

Traditional direct mail remains the best way to reach this discriminating group, but online offers may be an idea for the future.
"Most mailers go the direct mail route, but don't forget that most of these people own computers and are online," says Moriarty.
