Questions to Consider when Building a Facebook Page for Your Business
First, it's vital to know what your metrics are for success before you commit to a social media initiative. Having clearly defined goals will keep you on the right path to measure your return on your social medai efforts.
Here are three questions we addressed before DMIQ's Facebook launch:
Q: Why do we want a Facebook Page?
A: We recently conducted a social media survey of our readers that showed Facebook is becoming much more important in the business environment. What's more, our readers are actively using Facebook, which tells us it's a good avenue to focus on for engagement and brand advocacy.
Q: How will the Facebook Page differ from our website?
A: We decided to make our Facebook presence more casual, have more personality and offer content in shorter bites. We'll have special "deals" for our Facebook Fans, exclusive content, as well as try some live streaming at face-to-face events.
Q: What will we post ... How often will be post ... Who will post?
A: We opted to create a Social Media Council for our Facebook Page and set up an ongoing schedule of posts. Different members of the council will be responsible for specific content and for responding to fans' comments.
