4 Ways Startups, Bootstrappers Can Use Influencers to Build Brand
Strapped for cash, startups and small business owners are looking for innovative ways to break into their respective industries and grow their brand awareness — fast.
Here are four ways startups and small companies can capitalize on an influencer network:
1. Know your brand. Understand whether your brand is luxury (high fashion) or more mainstream, and choose the appropriate models or social media influencers, respectively, to promote it.
2. Assemble a team of influencers on the same day. Bring together a network of influencers, from models to photographers, production company and makeup artists, all on the same day to generate a bigger social media presence.
3. Produce quality content. Influencers need content that's worth posting and, unlike high-fashion models, they need to tease their work to their following. Therefore, ensure content can be posted both during (e.g., behind the scenes) and after production. This applies to content other than video and photos, as well.
4. Target your market creatively. It's crucial to tap into the influencers your target market follows outside of those expected. For example, a lot of men follow women on social media; therefore, a brand made for men should also be shown with the female social media influencers they follow.
