Anderson owns Idaho Falls, Idaho-based Web design firm Web Impakt and the blog One-Click Lindsey, where she posted four tips marketers can use to improve their email address opt-in boxes.
She also posted this clip on YouTube on Thursday.
For the written version, check out Anderson’s tips here:
- Have a Headline. This should explain why to provide an email address. What's their pain point?
- Picture of the Offer. “You are probably not sending these website visitors something tangible, but you want them to feel like you are,” she says. “Design a nice report cover so they feel like what they are receiving is real.”
- Information Boxes. Ask for visitors’ names and email addresses, if that’s all that’s necessary. No more.
- Call to Action. “Your big red, ‘click here’ button should have a nice call to action,” Anderson says. “Use some excellent words that will make the user jump into action like, ‘Download Now.’ ”
