New Arrival: Acxiom Digital Implements DKIM
Acxiom's IMPACT platform helps marketers create and execute campaigns across multiple media channels including personalized e-mail, targeted Web sites, banner and other Web advertisements, search engines, and direct mail.
Acxiom says the technology provides its clients and their customers added protection against e-mail fraud and phishing attacks. The company is one of the first e-mail service providers to implement the DKIM standard and provide the technology to its customers.
Acxiom Digital sends e-mails to millions of consumers worldwide daily on behalf of enterprise clients such as Gap, Hewlett Packard, Marriott and Dell.
DKIM, which is an open-source standard, employs a cryptographic signature that can be decrypted by a receiving Internet Service Provider. This enables the ISP to verify the sender of an e-mail and then make a determination of whether that sender is trustworthy. Further, the DKIM "fingerprint" that is placed in each message allows receiving ISPs to verify that the message has not been tampered with due to phishing scams or e-mail fraud. Messages that have been compromised can be flagged accordingly.
DKIM combines features of separate authentication technologies originally developed by Yahoo! and Cisco, and improves on the anti-forgery and anti-phishing capabilities of the earlier authentication technologies.
Acxiom Digital also selected the Message Systems Delivery Manager as its e-mail delivery system for its advanced e-mail deliverability functionality.
