Denny’s Daily Zinger: Nasty People Hire Nasty Aides

The word in New Jersey: “Don’t cross Governor Chris Christie.”
Christie—now up to his snout in troubles—is alleged to be vindictive.

The current brouhaha may have been launched because Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich failed to endorse Christie. As a result, the governors’ aides reportedly created a massive traffic catastrophe on the Fort Lee side of the George Washington Bridge, the busiest bridge in the world.

The alleged perp—Christie aide David Wildestein—pleaded the Fifth when queried by New Jersey lawmakers.

The Kim Guadagno Ado
When Hoboken, N.J. Mayor Dawn Zimmer failed to endorse a Christie program, Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno reportedly withheld Hurricane Sandy relief funds. It has become an ugly “she-said-she-said” contretemps.

Whereupon The New York Times dug up some serious dirt on Lt. Gov. Guadagno, describing how she publicly accused a highly reputable artist of fraud. The charges were dropped, but the gentleman was left with a $7,000 lawyer’s bill.

The Himmler Papers
What triggered this story was the release of the papers of Adolf Hitler henchman, the notorious Heinrich Himmler.

It turns out the Reichsführer said the same thing in the 1930s that President Nixon’s dirty tricks master Chuck Colson said 40 years later. [See the image in the media player at right.]

Takeaways to Consider

  • Nasty people hire nasty aides. Watch your back.
  • Don’t say something stupid like “I’d run over my grandmother.” The line turned up in the first paragraph of Chuck Colson’s Washington Post obituary.

    Denny,

To be fair and bipartisan, I guess you can add Travelgate and Hillary to your list of nasty people.

By the way, no incriminating evidence has beed revealed yet in Christie’s case.

    Just saying,

    Mike
