Liveliest LinkedIn Discussion of the Week – QR Codes? SnapTags? NFC?

This week, Target Marketing magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Thorin McGee got Integrated Marketing Mix LinkedIn group members talking when he asked “Has anyone had any experience using 2D Codes (QR, MicroSoft’s Tags, SnapTags, etc.) or near-field communications (NFC, sort of like RFID for phones) to integrate print with mobile? Which one did you use? Was it successful?”

We promote QR Codes to video (my profile QR code connects to the video describing WVS Global’s services). It’s been successful with clients who know how to promote the QR Code. The 2D is most familiar with our client base. We offer the Microsoft Tags, but most potential viewers/scanners need to download the microsoft app. Most mobile devices now come with 2D readers/apps already installed. Microsoft now has the more familiar looking 2D code, but its proprietary. I personally like Microsoft’s analytics.
